Light the Way 5k

Join CLB at Nationals Park on Saturday, September 12th, 2015 for the 5th Annual Light the Way 5k to support those who are blind or visually impaired in the Washington, DC area.

Our volunteer program provides many different services in support of CLB and its community. CLB’s volunteers attend orientations that include sensitivity training, human guide training, and information about CLB.

Camp Lighthouse 2015

We need to raise $43,000 for Camp Lighthouse’s 56th season. We are very grateful to all who support CLB, but to open the doors on time, we need your continued support now. If you haven’t already done so, please send your tax-deductible donation today. It costs Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind approximately $1,000 per child for a week of camp at the Silver Spring YMCA. The campers especially look forward to the games, arts & crafts, and field trips—but, most importantly, they enjoy doing these activities with their peers. In the words of a camper’s parent, "Being in a camp that is only for children who are blind or low vision helps my daughter feel okay about her vision. It lets her connect with other children who encounter similar issues in their lives and can understand her issues in a way a sighted person cannot. She has made a lot of friends and really feels like she fits in at camp. In tough times like these, your gift makes a difference.
